Although there are a number of options available to the Alps tourist, the hire car option from the airport is probably the easiest and most cost effective. More often than not these this form of Alps transport will be tailor made for the journey to and around your resort and the car providers should be able to provide you with any advice you need prior to your journey.
Sporty car hire
If you are flying into the Swiss Alps via Geneva there are a number of car hire companies to choose from, it is probably better to select one of the well known firms as transport in the Alps is sometimes not quite as straightforward as driving in other parts of the continent. In the event of difficulties these larger firms are well equipped to come to your aid and usually have people on call 24 hours a day.
Yeah it’s definitely worth your while to get a quality car that can handle steep inclines and icy roads. Don’t forget to bring (or rent) snow chains as well… Driving to/from the slopes is tricky business!
mmm sporty car. I think it’s important to have a car that can handle the situations in the alps and I suppose the can hire option from the airport knows what they’re doing.
I’d definitely also like to have the option of people being on call 24 hours a day.

My mouth is watering thinking about that delicious melted cheese ham and tomato sandwich. It was served by a cute Italian flight attendant too …
One thing I always think about is unusual transport. I wonder how you could go about doing a bike tour of the Alps. I know you’d need to be fit as, but cycling around in that beautiful scenery would be amazing. The air would so clear and fresh up there, too. I can just smell the woodland and the surrounding fields now. Pity I’m really unfit right now though. That sort of thing almost makes me want to start going to the gym again.
