Events in the Alps

There are many events that you should experience during your Alps vacation. If you are a fan of classical music, you can go to Austria and visit Salzburg in January for Mozart Week, this is probably the most prestigious Alps event and draws Mozart enthusiasts from all four corners of the globe. If you travel in February, you can enjoy the Opera Ball, one of the social highlights of Vienna where you can rub shoulders with the rich and famous. The fairy tale castle of Neuschwanstein in Germany is the location of the famous Ludwig Musical, while Oberammergau is the site of the handicraft Easter market. All are definitely worth a visit.

Tour de France

France, Italy, and Switzerland, on the other hand, host various winter sports competitions that enthusiasts should witness. When summer comes, the fun continues with the Tour de France in the French Alps, the latter stages of this competition are one of the Alps exciting events. Germany has the Oktoberfest to lure visitors to Munich every year. Italy has a number of operas that attract visitors during the summer months, while Switzerland holds numerous cultural festivals that never fail to delight tourists.
