Skiing, Snowboarding and Connectivity – Wireless Technology in the Alps
Wherever you go in this technological age you are sure to see someone using one of the many gadgets that are on the market today. From the most rudimentary of mobile phones to the latest iphone 4 with 3G capability people are connected everywhere, seemingly all of the time and the locals and holidaymakers in the Alpine regions of Europe are no exception.

Flawless Connectivity
Galaxy Tab, Blackberry, ipad, netbook, notebook, GPS the list goes on and on and so does the demand to be connected everywhere, even in tourist destinations. The days of the nine to five job are more or less finished and instead more and more people are connected to their office 24 hours a day via mobile phones and other wireless gadgets. Although this gives people more flexibility as to where they spend their time it also gives their employers an open invitation to contact them at will.
Of course, the demands of work do not apply to those who use their mobile gadgets purely for leisure purposes but current statistics suggest that people spend almost as much time on Facebook, Twitter, Bebo etc as they do in pursuit of the pound. Despite this relentless connectivity those who want a real holiday away from it all could do a lot worse than choose the Alps region. It really does have something for everyone, from the best slopes for the skiers and snowboarders to restaurants and nightclubs that rival the best the continent has to offer.

Winter-Tested Wireless Technology
If you really want to escape from the rat race for a week or two and are looking at the Alps as a possible destination it may be prudent to leave your gadget, iphone, whatever at home but it is good to know that stunning landscapes that evolved over millions of years can exist in tandem with the latest in 21st Century technology.
